Microsoft is coming up with a smart watch and is expected to hit the market within the next few weeks. According to Forbes the smart watch will “passively track a user’s heart rate and work across different mobile platforms”. The gadget is expected to have a battery life of over two days on regular use. Apple revealed their smart watch on Sept. 9 that will combine health and fitness tracking with communications, but it is expected to go on sale by early 2015 only.
Google’s Android partners have smart watches too. Samsung has announced their gadget last year itself. Now Microsoft wants to join the party. Batter life of over 2 days would be an improvement over many current smart watches, which often need to be charged nightly.
Microsoft smart watch will offer cross-platform support and won’t be limited to just the company’s own Windows Phone OS. This would represent a different approach to Google with Android Wear and Apple with the Apple Watch, both of which only work with Android and iOS respectively.
