As per order by India’ Department Of Telecom, user’s in India are blocked from 32 websites including Vimeo, Dailymotion, Github, Pastebin and Sourceforge .
Some of those websites blocked mainly because of in-appropriate content and also on the advise by the Anti-Terrorism Squad.
One major inclusion in the list of websites blocked is GitHub and is really going to hurt a vast majority of programmer community in India.

Direction to block Internet Website
Under the powers conferred by Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and under the Information Technology (Procedures and Safeguards for Blocking of Access of Information by Public) Rules, 2009, it has been decided to immediately block the access to the following 32 URLs:
- tny.cz (Tinypaste)
- github.com (gist-it)
There are odd cases where users are able access these websites from some ISP’s. But soon these will also be revoked until the ban is lifted.
Update as of 02’nd Jan 2015 :
Ban on GitHub, Vimeo, Weebly and Dailymotion are lifted.
